چکیده
This research work focuses on the experimental investigations conducted using uncoated cBN tool and (AlCrN) PVD Coated for turning Inconel 718. Two different sets of experiments – one with another coated inserts were considering three levels cutting speeds, feed rates depth cuts. The performance over evaluated it was found that AlCrN can produce 10-12% drop in force, 15% reduction flank wear 10% surface roughness.

Laser-assisted machining of Inconel 718 with carbide and ceramic inserts
The use of high strength materials, like titanium alloys and tool steels, is becoming increasingly common in industry. However, these materials are difficult to machine because they maintain their mechanical properties even at high temperatures. Hence, conventional machining (CM) of these materials is slow and inefficient because only slow cutting speeds can be used. In order to increase produc...
متن کاملTemperature Measurement and Numerical Prediction in Machining Inconel 718
Thermal issues are critical when machining Ni-based superalloy components designed for high temperature applications. The low thermal conductivity and extreme strain hardening of this family of materials results in elevated temperatures around the cutting area. This elevated temperature could lead to machining-induced damage such as phase changes and residual stresses, resulting in reduced serv...
متن کاملOptimization of machining parameters of EDM while machining Inconel 718 for form tolerance and orientation tolerance
This paper demonstrates the effectiveness of optimizing multiple characteristics of electrical discharge machining (EDM) of Inconel 718 using copper electrodes having different shapes via Taguchi method-based Grey analysis. The modified algorithm adopted here is used successfully for both detraining the optimum settings of machining parameters and for combining multiple quality characteristic i...
متن کاملEvaluation of Tool Performance With Nanocrystalline Multilayer Coatings on the Machinability of Superalloy Inconel 718
In this paper, the performance of the cutting tool with nanocrystalline multilayer coatings (TiN+TiAlN) for machining of superalloy Inconel 718 in the dry and wet conditions was studied. The multi layer TiN and TiAlN with nanocrystalline structure was applied by physical vapor deposition technique (arc evaporation) on the WC-Co inserts. The results of the ball on disc wear test and the machinin...
